General Surgery

General surgery clinic software

In surgery the weight of the file is not the operation but the preparation before it and the follow-up after it. HekimBis keeps the pre-op assessment, operation plan, consent, pathology order and wound follow-up on the same timeline, and wound photos are compared as a series.

The patient deciding on surgery and the one who had it share a file

A surgical outpatient clinic has two kinds of patients: the patient who will decide on surgery and the patient who has had surgery and comes for a check. The workspace opens suitably for both: for the first, the preparation list and tests are on the first screen; for the second, the wound and healing.

A missing test appears as a task before the date of surgery; a pathology order is opened for the specimen removed during surgery and attaches to the file when the result arrives.

Three routines of surgical practice

  • Pre-op preparation

The preparation list and tests are defined; a missing item appears as a task before the date of surgery.

  • Consent and documents

Procedure-specific clinical consent, information and discharge documents come from templates; disclosure, explicit consent and clinical consent are separate records.

  • Wound and post-op follow-up

Check-up visits are planned from the surgery date; serial photos and the healing note sit together.

Perioperative card and wound series

On the left is a three-column checklist card: pre-op (preparation items and tests), operation (plan, consent, consumables used, specimen) and post-op (check-up dates). Each item is marked completed, missing or overdue. On the right is the wound follow-up series: photos from check-up visits line up by date, two photos from the same angle open side by side, and healing notes tie to the timeline.

Pre-op, operation and post-op make up three phases

  1. Pre-op assessment

History, examination, tests and the preparation list are prepared.

  2. Operation plan and consent

The plan, procedure-specific clinical consent and patient information are handled.

  3. Operation

The procedure record, consumables used and the specimen are processed.

  4. Pathology

An order is opened for the specimen and the result attaches to the file.

  5. Wound and post-op follow-up

A check-up visit, wound photo and healing note are added.

  6. Discharge or continuation

Follow-up is completed or the plan continues.

From the surgical decision to the first check-up

For a patient for whom surgery is decided, you complete the pre-op assessment, order the required tests and prepare the operation plan and the procedure-specific consent. A pathology order is opened for the specimen removed after surgery. At check-up visits the wound is photographed from the same angle, serial photos open side by side and a healing note is written.

Imaging, pathology and wound photography

In the surgeon's file, imaging, pathology and photographs are linked together.

Pathology results
Results arrive linked from the order to the report.
Serial wound photos
A series in order is kept from the same angle.

Common questions about general surgery software

Is there a separate profile for general surgery?

Yes. General Surgery is one of the defined clinical profiles: pre-op assessment, operation and procedure plan, wound and post-op follow-up. It is versioned and passes two separate clinical sign-offs before release.

Which organizations is it designed for?

The profile targets the working structure of outpatient clinics and small to mid-size surgical practices: preparation, plan, consent, consumables, pathology and wound follow-up.

How does a pathology result attach?

A pathology order is opened for the specimen; when the result arrives, the order, specimen and patient match under the same identity. A result that does not match falls to human review.

Are wound photos kept safely?

Photos are part of the patient file; access is limited by role, branch and care relationship, and every access is written to the audit log.

Are my devices supported?

Device connections are verified per manufacturer, exact model, protocol and version, and the verified ones are listed. A file from a device that is not on the list is imported with a note that it is not integrated.

Is there consumable and stock tracking?

A procedure kit is defined; when a procedure is completed, consumables are deducted from stock, and lot and expiry dates are tracked.

Can patient information documents and discharge instructions be produced?

Yes. Information and discharge documents come from templates; a document is versioned and a signed document does not change later. It is published in the patient portal once you approve it.

Can it be used for minor surgical procedures?

The procedure plan, consent, consumables and wound follow-up work with the same flow for minor procedures, and the preparation list and check intervals can be shortened for the procedure.
