Which doctor portal do you mean?

A search for a doctor portal covers three different needs: the panel where a physician does clinical work, the secure portal where a patient reaches appointments and results, and the verified profile where patients find a physician. This page explains the difference between the three and shows how HekimBis joins them on one calendar.

Three portals, three audiences

  • Physician panel

For the physician. The diary, patient file, exam record, tests, prescription draft, finance and reports sit in this panel. Its users are the physician and the clinical team; it works with a HekimBis subscription, and sign-in is through the HekimBis app.

  • Patient portal

For the patient. A secure patient account branded for the clinic: booking, forms and consent, results the physician has published, messages, balance and payment view, and a parent or dependent account. Because it is a surface for access to clinical data, identity verification is needed; only results the physician has published appear on the portal.

  • Verified physician profile

For new patients. A separate free discovery surface for patients called Hekimiz shows verified identity, services and live availability. No clinical data lives on this surface.

What the three share is HekimBis, but their ownership is separate. HekimBis owns clinical data, the confirmed appointment, images, laboratory results and finance; Hekimiz should not be thought of as a second patient file or CRM. Your path depends on what you are looking for:

The physician panel

The physician panel is the web and mobile workspace that runs the physician's day. It has five views.

  • Diary

Today's list, durations, delays, room and device resources; the patient card with one click. See Appointments and calendar.

  • Patient

Main card, alerts and the Patient 360 timeline. The record of another branch opens only through membership and a care relationship.

  • Exam

A form structured for your specialty, quick notes, ready texts, signature and lock. See Clinical record.

  • Tests and results

Orders, pending results, critical result acknowledgment and the decision to publish to the patient.

  • Finance and reports

The physician's own earnings, payment summary, no-show rate and occupancy.

The panel takes shape by role and permission; the screens a physician sees differ from those of front-desk or finance staff. In the mobile app the daily core flow, meaning the diary, quick check-in, patient summary, voice note and critical result notice, is on the phone. See CRM Mobile and Roles and permissions. Sign-in is through the HekimBis app.

For most people who use the physician panel, the most frequent question is how the patient side looks. Everything the physician does in the panel affects the patient's portal experience, but in a controlled way: when the physician cancels an appointment the patient is notified; the patient does not see a result until the physician reviews and publishes it; and when the physician withdraws a document it disappears from the portal. So the physician manages what the patient sees through the decision to publish, instead of wondering how it will come across. The same logic applies to messaging: a patient's portal message is classified as a clinical or operational subject, a warning is shown for emergencies and the expected response time is stated plainly.

When a physician takes leave or falls ill, the panel handles that too: leave blocks are entered into the calendar, an automatic reply goes to patient messages, and permissions are defined for the physician or assistant who takes over the diary. The handover is recorded, so it stays clear whose hands a patient's appointment and file are in.

The patient portal

The patient portal is the secure digital face of the patient's relationship with the clinic. On the portal the patient sees their own details, books, changes and cancels appointments, fills in the pre-visit form and consents, uploads files, opens the results and documents the physician has published, messages securely, sees their balance and payment plan, and requests data access and correction. A parent or guardian can reach a dependent account with proof of relationship, duration and scope.

The most important principle is the explicit publication model. A result or report is not visible to the patient the moment it is produced; the physician reviews and publishes it deliberately. This prevents a critical result, or one that needs interpretation, from being read by the patient before the physician. Publication can be withdrawn. The notification sent to the patient contains no health information: a generic message such as you have a new document, and a secure sign-in link. When the patient signs in, the view is written to the audit record. The flow is shown below.

The portal is branded for the clinic: it is presented with your clinic's name and look. Language options and the payment view depend on the package and setup; a payment provider connection is used for online payment, and card details never enter the HekimBis layer. See Patient portal for the full feature description.

The first week of a clinic that uses all three surfaces usually goes like this. On day one the physician panel is opened and the service list and diary are set up. On day two the look of the patient portal is set with the clinic's name and services, and form and consent templates are loaded. On day three the front-desk team starts entering phone appointments into the same calendar. In the following days the portal link is added to the clinic's website, messages and social media; if the physician wishes, they start the verification process and move on to preparing a publication on Hekimiz. Because each surface is built on the previous one, the order does not need to change; publication on Hekimiz comes last and is optional. Role-based training paths and an expectations guide for setup are described on How it works.

The verified physician profile

Hekimiz(opens in a new tab) is a surface, free for patients, where they find verified physicians. It builds trust not with show but with objective signals: verification status, services, real availability and appointment reliability. Ranking does not depend on the package.

A physician verified in HekimBis chooses which fields to publish on their profile. The availability shown on the profile comes live from the physician's HekimBis calendar; the appointment the patient takes is finalized in HekimBis. Clinical data is not copied to Hekimiz. For verified physicians without a HekimBis subscription there is a free Directory entitlement with a limited profile, calendar and appointment management; patient tracking, clinical record and CRM come with a HekimBis subscription. No second provider panel is built; the same panel narrows according to permission.

A short guide to which portal to choose: if you only want your own patients to book and see their results, the physician panel and patient portal are enough, and Hekimiz adds reaching new patients on top. If winning new patients is your first priority, the verified profile and real availability on Hekimiz come forward. If you are a manager or clinic owner who is not a physician, you open the physician panel to your team with role-based permissions and brand the patient portal. The principle is the same in every case: one patient record, one calendar, different permission on each surface. See the next section for the calendar side.

One calendar across three surfaces

The three portals work correctly because of one rule: the only owner of a confirmed appointment is the HekimBis calendar. The open slot seen on Hekimiz, the time chosen on the patient portal and the diary in the physician's panel are the same calendar; there is no copy calendar.

Availability is published live from the HekimBis calendar. When a patient chooses a time, the time is held briefly and the appointment is finalized in HekimBis; the same record appears in the physician's diary and the patient's portal. If the time was just given to someone else, the patient sees new alternatives. When the physician's calendar changes, for example with leave, an emergency or new working hours, the availability on the profile changes too; the stale profile problem, where a physician's calendar is out of date, does not arise in this structure. See Appointments and calendar for calendar details and Doctor appointment system for appointment behavior.

From the security point of view the shared rule of the three surfaces is this: access always starts with identity verification and permission is decided on the server. The physician panel is protected by multi-factor verification and trusted-device management; the patient portal opens with account linking and proof of relationship, with duration and scope for dependent and parent or guardian accounts; no clinical data lives on the Hekimiz surface. Notifications sent to the patient contain no health information, and every sensitive view is written to the audit trail. So the three surfaces sharing the same patient record does not mean every surface sees the same thing.

Frequently asked questions

Is a doctor portal the same as a patient portal?

No. A doctor portal usually means the physician's clinical panel, and a patient portal the patient's secure access surface. HekimBis offers both on the same data and calendar.

Do I need separate software for the patient portal?

No. The patient portal is part of HekimBis and is branded for the clinic. See the Pricing page for package scope.

Do I have to be on Hekimiz?

No. The portal and panel work independently of Hekimiz. Publishing on Hekimiz is optional and requires verification.

Can a patient see a result before the physician?

No. Results appear on the portal only after the physician reviews and publishes them; publication can be withdrawn.

Does the panel work on a phone?

Yes. The physician's daily core flow is in the mobile app. Sign-in supports biometric verification, and sensitive views are written to the audit trail. See Security.

How does a patient sign in to the portal?

The patient opens or links an account on the clinic's branded portal with identity verification. Parent and guardian accounts open with proof of relationship, duration and scope.

Is the physician panel the same as the CRM?

They are different views of the same application. The physician panel is the view of HekimBis that narrows to the physician role; the front desk and the manager use their own screens on the same records.

What is published to the patient portal?

Only the results and documents the physician has published, appointment details, forms, messages and the patient's own account are visible. The decision to publish rests with the physician and can be withdrawn.
